We have had a passion for growing since 1972, when Alec and Mary McMullan sowed the first seeds of business. From there, our family-run nursery and garden centre has bloomed!

Now operated by Richard & Valerie McMullan along with their children Abbi & Jack, Ben Vista Nursery & Garden Centre continues it's 50+ year legacy of bringing colour and life to gardens across the island by providing vibrant bedding plants, beautiful shrubs and perennials, and stunning planted containers.

But that's not all... the garden centre supplies a vast range of pots, compost, tools, trees, houseplants, garden accessories, and everything else you might need to make your garden a showpiece!

Everything we do, we do with the help of our amazing staff. From the nursery to the garden centre we rely on our hard working team to bring you the best in quality and service which we are so proud of. Whether you are a regular or a new visitor, when you step foot in our garden centre you become family.

Meet The Garden Centre Team

  • Robert

    Robert has been with us for over 15 years and has an extensive wealth of plant knowledge and experience. Able to direct you to the perfect plant for your garden, Robert’s key advice to anyone is to plan your garden space, don’t rush and be patient.

    Loved by all staff and customers, Robert is our social media star and is always up for a laugh and a good chat.

  • Kyle

    Our most formally educated staff member, Kyle holds a BSc in Horticulture and came 3rd in the All-Ireland Young Horticulturist of the Year 2024.

    Always happy to share his plant knowledge, you can usually find Kyle singing along to musical numbers or country songs whilst working with the plants.

  • Niamh

    Niamh said goodbye to the Banking Industry 17 years ago when she gained her RHS Practical Horticulture certificate and she hasn’t looked back! Now she is assisting in RHS Chelsea and Tatton Park Garden showcases, as well as BBC Gardener’s World Show.

    With a sharp eye and sarcastic wit, Niamh keeps us all in line and ensures there is never a dull moment.

  • Kara

    A bundle of horticultural knowledge all tied up in a sassy bow, Kara is a familiar face to any customer who walks through our doors and is our go-to expert on all things houseplants.

    A naturally creative person, Kara can make any pot or hanging basket look like a million bucks!

  • Jenny

    Known for her welcoming smile and warm personailty, Jenny has a great knowledge of all things garden related from years of experience and a FdSc in Horticulture!

    In charge of our social media and marketing, Jenny can usually be found trying to convince other staff members to be in content, usually unsuccessfully.

  • Valerie

    The Queen Bee at Ben Vista, Valerie runs the garden centre with unwaivering passion and a keen eye for detail.

    Needing design inspiration? Valerie is your go to and has a talent for turning any corner of the garden or home into a show piece.

    Dubbed the mother of Ben Vista, Valerie has the patience of a saint and a lot of love for her "Ben Vista Children" ...and we test it, trust us.
